The object consists of two figures sitting under a parasol, atop a circular base. The right figure is a male playing a string instrument; the left figure is a female nursing two babies sitting on her lap. A small bird is perched on the edge of the base in front of the male. The base is circular, and narrows abruptly under the figures, then flares back to a wide, hollow base. It is decorated with a geometric, cross-hatched pattern. The object is dark brown or black in color, and yellow metal shows through in some raised areas. Beige soil is present in crevices and recesses. National Museum of Asian Art Collection
