Folio from the Silsilat al-dhahab (Chain of gold) first daftar from the Haft awrang (Seven thrones) by Jami; one of eight colophons from the Haft awrang (F1946.12.46 recto, F1946.12.69 verso, F1946.12.83 verso, F1946.12.139 recto, F1946.12.181 recto, F1946.12.199 recto, F1946.12.224 verso, F1946.12.272 recto); text: Persian in black nasta'liq script; recto: text; seal impression; gold and black inscription; gold column dividers; square panels with diagonal hemistichs and triangular verse illuminations; four columns, twenty-one lines of text; verso: blank; one of a group of 304 folios. Border: The recto is set in multicolored rulings on a cream ground with gold floral motifs. Bottom page rectangular-triangular panels: "The first book (daftar) of the Silsilat al-dhahab was written by the high order of his highness, the celebrated, the successful, the world-mastering Khusraw (a Sasanian king known for his justice) as mighty as the heavens, the just, the perfect, the virtuous Abu'l-Fath Sultan Ibrahim Mirza al-Husayni al-Safavi, by the hand of the lowly (and) lowliest of his servants Malik al-Daylami in Dhu'l-hijja the year [A.H.] 963, [A.D.
