Specie endemică, răspândită în pădurile tropicale și subtropicale din Sri Lanka. În natură populația este stabilă, iar specia nu este protejată. Exemplarul face parte din colecția achiziționată de Grigore Antipa de la Gustav Schneider, în 1897. Endemic species, widespread in the tropical and subtropical forests of Sri Lanka. In nature the population is stable and the species is not protected. The copy is part of the collection purchased by Grigore Antipa from Gustav Schneider in 1897.
