Context The mask can be used in two contexts in Kolam. Either in the dance of the Kaffirs, Kapiri Kolama (Sin.), or in the dance episode involving the drummer group, called Anabera Kolama (Sin.). Material Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica). Iconography This mask is of a smaller variety. The face is painted in greenish yellow. The plaited hair and the padded lips are clues to the African ethnicity (Kaffir). But the set of miserable teeth and the broad and jocular mouth are the features of a man such as the drummer's assistant.
