The Devi Mahatmya is a Hindu religious text describing the Goddess as the supreme power and creator of the universe. It is part of the Markandeya Puran written sometime between 400 to 600 CE. It is also known as Durgā Saptashatī. It is one of the most important texts of Shaktism.
