King Pratap Malla in the seventeenth century, built two tall sikhara style temples on the Swayambhu hill named Pratapapura, after himself, and Anantapura, after a consort, Ananta Priya, both dedicated to the esoteric Vajrayana deities. Pratapapur suffered damage; whereas, Anantapur completely collapsed.
