It presents the status of various ongoing and upcoming schemes for the year 2021 in the renewable energy (RE) sector.The report states that 2021 was a landmark year for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy as the nation crossed the target of ensuring that 40 per cent of its installed energy capacity is from non-fossil sources. This target was met nine years before the deadline proposed during the Paris Agreement.  In terms of installed RE capacity, India presently stands at the fourth position in the world.
