Anandpur Sahib Resolution

1 Jan 1985

This document is a very convincing rebuttal of the baseless allegations against the Sikhs for passing "The Anandpur Sahib Resolution" in October by the Shiromani Akali Dal demanding an autonomous state for Punjab in the true federal structure of the Indian Constitution as well as demanding more rights for all the Indian states. The author, being an eminent legal luminary and a retired chief justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, gives a point by point reply to the allegations of secessionism and separation leveled against the Sikhs by the vested interests. Each resolution in the comprehensive "Anandpur Sahib Resolution" is based on established national and international constitutional and legal principles. The author laments the voices which call this resolution as secessionist and the Sikhs as secessionists despite the proven track record of the Patriotism and sacrifice of the Sikhs for India's independence.
