Memoir Of a Map Of Hindoostan Or The Moguls Empire

1 Jan 1783

This memoir-cum-descriptive account written by one of the British surveyor generals gives the geographical composition of several Indian provinces as it existed during the Mughal rule. The author has based his observations mainly on the geographical maps and boundaries of Indian state as they existed during rule of Mughal emperor Akbar. There are serious mistakes in printing which make its reading problematic. This descriptive memoir seems to have been prepared for the guidance of British officers of the expanding British Empire in knowing the history and geography of India.
