The book describes political, social and geographical conditions prevailing in Punjab during the one hundred years of British rule over Punjab from 1849 to 1947. It gives a detailed information of the geographical boundaries of Punjab during this period. More significantly, it describes most of the religious and political movements which took place during this period. Prominent among these movements are NamDhari (Kuka) movemen Kamagata Maru episode, Jallianwala Bagh and Nankana Sahib Massacre, Jaito, Guru ka Bagh, Panja Sahib, Babbar Akalis and Singh Sabha Movement. It also deals with the then Panjab Civil Code, Panjab partition as well as Canal network in Punjab.
