In the beginning of the fifties of the last cetury the then newspapers announced that the boys of the different Schools and Colleges had attempted to display their histrionic accomplishments ; they peformed several of Shakespeare's plays in place of rcitation and in this th [...] Issur Chandra Gupta Poet and the Editor of the Probhakar in the issue of the paper on the 14th February 1853 observed "since the foundtion of the Oriental Seminary by an Indian gentlmon of no ordinary ability it is sending forth every year young men well educated and fit to enter the world. [...] The roll strength in the Girls' department was 723 in March and 686 in December 1951.( 30 ) Marticulation Results :—Due to the sudden and -unexpected stiffening < of the standard of the Matriculation Examination by the Calcutta University the results of the examination in the year under review were not as satisfactory as they were exepected to be. [...] The Headmaster hoisted the National Flag and delivered a speach dwelling on the significance of the function and the duties of all citizens specially of the students under the new constitution. [...] This made possible for us to arrange for separate lavatory for the Girls' department separation of the offices of the two departments granting of increments to the members of the staff and appointment of certain additional teachers in both the departments.
