Department of Agricutlure Madras. Report of the Work of Palur Agricultural Station for 1924-25

1925

An account of the local conditions and agricultural practices in the vicinity of the farm is printed in appendix I to the report. [...] Among the various cultural operations themselves the ploughed fields were better than the shallow cultivated ones; of the latter cultivation with bakhar seems to mitigate the evil as it cuts the plants at a depth of 8" to 4" so that by frequently working it the chances for the nuts to multiply become small.
