(5) MARKET AND COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR THE RIVER BANK COLONY LuCKNOSV A great need of the residents of the River Bank Colony was provided in the community centre and market at the entrance of the River Bank Colony near the Suraj Kund. [...] The size shape and location of the proposed traffic island has been decided after making a comprehensive study of the junction and the character of the movements of vehicles. [...] As the existing kutcha shops at the centr of the junction arc a nuisance both to the traffic and to the aesthetic appearance of the square they have been proposed to be removed. [...] In addition to this a swimming pool and extensive sports grounds all account for the enlightened educational ideas of the day emphasising the parallel need for recreational and social activities for the care of the body along with the culture of the mind at this centre of adult education. [...] MODEL ZONING REGULATIONS Zoning is the division of a community into districts for the purpose of regulating the use of land and buildings the height or bulk of buildings the percentage of lot that may be covered and the density of population.
