PROCEEDINGS OF THE First Meeting of the Crops and Soils Wing of the Board of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry in India. [...] 2. The meeting commenced at 12 noon and adjourned at 1 P. M. 3. In welcoming the members of the Crops and Soils Wing of the Board of Agriculture the Chairman reminded them that this meeting was the first to be held under the new costitution decided on at the last meeting of the old Board of Agriculture at Pusa in 1929. [...] He took this opportunity of specially welcoming the elements that had been introduced under the new costitution namely the representatives of the Co-operative Movement those of the Universities and those of the Central Board of Irrigation. [...] Secondly the range of the Council's beneficent activities was steadily epanding with the result that the volume of work coming before the Council had grown until today the variety of subjects dealt with was enormous and the records of the meetings of the Council filled large volumes. [...] One of the recommendations of the Royal Comission on Agriculture was that a discussion of the best methods of propaganda and publicity for the purpose of eplaining the work of the Agricultural Departments as well as for getting results of that work taken up by the cultivator in India should find a place on the agenda of every meeting of the Board of Agriculture and in this meeting they had
