(2) When the place of an appointed member of a District Board or Local Board becomes vacant as aforesaid the Comissioner may appoint a new member to fill.the plebe: (3) N.o act of any District Board or Local Board or of its officeps shall be deemed to be invalid by reason only of the fact that the number of members of the Bola at the time of the performance of the act was less thanstjaa pr [...] In section 27 of the said Act for the words " to the of section 27 Lieutenant-Governor ; and on such resignation being accepted " the following shall be substituted namely : — "in the case of a Chairman of a District Board to the Lieutenant-Governor and in the case of a Chairman of a Local Board to the Commissioner; and on such resignation being accepted by the Lieutenant-Governor or Commi [...] In section 32 of the said Act — (a) for the words "Every District Board and every Local Board with the sanction of the District Board " the following shall be substituted namely:— 6 Any District Board with the sanction of the Commisioner and subject to the control of the LieutenanGovernor and any Local Board with the sanction of the District Board and of the Commissioner and subject to t [...] e. 14 (4) In clause Sixthly of the same section for the words " of the travelling expenses incurred by members of the District Board in attending meetings of the Board or meetings of a Joint Committee " the following shall be substituted namely :— " (a) of travelling expenses incurred by delegates of the District Board in attending meetings convened under the rules made by the LieutenanGove [...] (8) It shall be the duty of a Sanitation Committee subject to the control of the District Board and to any rules made by the Lieutenant-Governor under section 138 to initiate and supervise works connected with the sanitation of the district and to exercise such of the powers of the District Board as may be delgated to it in accordance with such rules.
