[...] The publication of much wanted guides to the exhibits of the mineral galleries was also undertaken and the following are some of the important publications: (1) 'Popular guide to the minerals in the geological collections in the Indian Museum' by F. R. Mallet (1879). [...] It is the largest in Asia and on account of the number variety beauty and rarity of the specmens one of the most important in the world.
