Space will be allotted in relation to the nature of a paper the amount of original observation included and the relative importance of the work. [...] (h) The bulk of a paper should consist of a record of the original observations actually made in connection with the investigation the result of which is reported. [...] Illustrative matter should not bsaint th the form of unarranged drawings or photographs but be definitely arranged or allocated by the author as so many text-figures or plates as the case may be having due regard to the size and shape of the page of the Journal and the capacity of the drawings or photos for reduction. [...] In India in spite of the frequency of paratyphoid-like fever in man and the general importance of the salmonella problem in public health work including milk and meat inspection the animal salmonella problem has scarcely been touched : the chief reason is the dearth of trained workers and the mass of general animal disease problems that confronts the animal pathologist. [...] The subject of this note is therefore in correlation with the foregoing facts concerning salmonella disease in the dog worth recording and represents the second record of the isolation in India of an authentic salmonella species from the dog.
