4. CONJUGATION Like the declension the conjugation of Bhili is the same as that of the Standard Gujarati the changes could be explained by the application of the phonetic correspondences discussed above in the Phonetics of Bhili. [...] T. N. DAVE Modern Gujarati has the phonemes the half-open (hereafter called the open) a and e and the half-closed (hereafter called the closed) o and e occurring very often at the end of the word. [...] Here also it is not difficult to see how during the analogical re-building of the old forms on the model of the -au type the -g has become -e under the influence of the preceding -which in its turn was changed to the -glide before this -e. [...] The OG forms are karaji avaji leji deji; the process of the change of -g to -e during the former's transfer from the present tense form to the optative ones for rebuilding is almost the same as the one sketched just above. [...] When the princess was sitting with the king on the banks of the lake the latter was musing over the problem of finding a suitable match for her who was so beautiful and accomplished.
