Across Maharashtra, young men and women, desperate for state jobs, are training furiously to make the cut to become Agniveers. However, it’s a short-lived aim – after four years, only a fourth of them will be able to make a permanent career in the army. The rest of the trained soldiers will be looking for work all over again
